At The Glori Foundation, we believe mental health care should be accessible to everyone. Our free therapy program offers professional counseling services to individuals who may not be able to afford care otherwise. Through partnerships with licensed therapists, we provide a safe, supportive space for healing, because everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Our Programs & Activities
Mental Health/PTO Boat Ride
Experience a peaceful 2–3 hour boat ride along the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie, offered on select weekdays from 1–4pm (weather permitting). These rides provide a calming space for reflection, connection, and healing through guided mindfulness activities, group discussions, and nature observation. Embrace the restorative power of water—what scientists call the “Blue Mind”—as we promote emotional well-being and mental health awareness in a truly unique setting.
Boating offers more than just a recreational escape; it serves as a gateway to a tranquil state of mind known as the "Blue Mind." This restorative mental state is achieved by breaking away from daily routines and immersing oneself in the serene environment of the open water. Kindly wear appropriate attire for this excursion to ensure comfort pending weather conditions. During the journey, we'll engage in various mental health activities, including a group discussion, nature/city observation, and a mindfulness walk at Cleveland Metroparks. You'll enjoy breathtaking views of downtown Cleveland, the Flats, and the surrounding areas, such as Wendy Park, Edgewater Beach and the beautiful shoreline.

Each student receives: a writing, reading and math assessment, a customized learning plan, homework assistance, academic coaching, test preparation aid and study/organizational skills training. We also review class material, discuss the text, predict test questions, and work on solutions to problems. Tutoring is the supplement to classroom teaching and we are proud to be a partner.
Mentoring Program
Having a non-family member to turn to, relate to and confide in when faced with the variables of life can be life-changing to an impressionable mind and spirit. We feel that building trust and developing a committed relationship with our youth is one of the keys to keeping them on a positive track. Our mentors work with school staff to schedule times (usually 30 minutes to 1 hour per week) to meet with their student. We hope to pair students with mentors who most identify with their situation or aspirations, however a mentor in any capacity can make the difference!
Workshops, Classes & Guest Speakers

In helping to “MAKE A DIFFERENCE” in the life of a child, we like to address issues our children are facing on a daily basis both in the classroom and out. THE GLORI FOUNDATION provides workshops, which include but are not limited to, topics like characteristics of a leader, anger management, peer pressure, stranger danger, no bullying, street safety, dangers of drug abuse, sexual responsibility, college readiness, and more.
In addition to the speakers and presenters for the workshops, we also have other guests & guest speakers who come in to share their careers and experiences with the students! In some cases we are even able to take the students to them. We have had firemen, police officers, zoo keepers, muscle car builders, and more!
Lastly, we also like to have fun! We offer classes and clinics to expose our students to various sports & arts they may want to further pursue in their lives. Professional instructors teach classes such as martial arts, dance, and photography!
Food Program + Health & Fitness Initiatives

Advocacy groups repeat over and over that 16.2 million children (one in five) “struggle with hunger in the United States.” Television appeals show dispirited children going to bed hungry. In addition and on the contrary, the CDC tells us that, “In the United States, the percentage of children and adolescents affected by obesity has more than tripled since the 1970s. Data shows that nearly 1 in 5 school age children and young people (6 to 19 years) in the United States has obesity.”
These contrasting studies prove to us that too much or too little of anything can be dangerous, and children need to be provided with healthy balanced meals, as well as taught about the importance of food and physical health.
As part of our Mission, THE GLORI FOUNDATION purposefully helps to ensure that children without access to it, receive healthy food, nutrition education and physical activity while with us. In partnership with the CATCH Program and Children’s Hunger Alliance, our nutrition and physical education programming involves awesome opportunities for the children at our center to learn how the foods they eat help to fuel their bodies, and to have fun with physical activities such as Zumba and Yoga!
School Programs

Through our School Partnership Program, The Glori Foundation collaborates with local schools and counselors to provide free, on-site therapy and mental health services for students.
We support young people facing trauma, grief, bullying, low self-esteem, and other challenges—ensuring they receive the care and attention they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
Clothing & Food Drives

EVERY child and family deserves clothes on their backs and food in their stomachs. Here at THE GLORI FOUNDATION, we are aware that life can get in the way of being able to provide even the necessities. A helping hand is all that is needed sometimes, and we try to be able to extend that hand when able. We hold clothing and food drives to pull together the resources of our community, and share them with those who need them.
The GLORI Elves Christmas

The holidays are a time of giving and cheer! There is no exception to that here at THE GLORI FOUNDATION! We gather toys to give away to our children year after year, to help ensure they know they are cared about and loved. Santa and his elves visit our sites for a holiday party full of fun, food, and gifts for all the children!
Luther O. Gibbs Jr. Scholarship
In early 2018, founder Chris Gibbs lost the most influential man in his life, his father Luther O. Gibbs Jr. His mother and father taught him the importance of education coupled with a well-rounded portfolio. Thanks to their parents, Christopher and his brothers, Terence and Trayshon (deceased), were always afforded the opportunities to be involved in beneficial extra-curricular activities and sports.
From the beginning up until his passing, Mr. Gibbs was a huge supporter of THE GLORI FOUNDATION, and used his experience in education to help his son “MAKE A DIFFERENCE” in the lives of children. He was always willing to help with classes, tutoring and after-care.
In honor of his late father, this scholarship fund will be a programs and activities fund to be awarded to students wanting to participate in wholesome extracurricular activities / clubs / groups / sports, whose grades support their sense of responsibility, but their families may not be financially able to pay the fees and costs associated with these opportunities.
